New 501c-Oriented Bylaws: Motion to Adopt and Final Discussion.
Everyone received a copy of these to look over. Reworked from the
ground up to align with 501c3 classification common practice.
The procedure to object to a bylaw they are always open for
amendment with a 2/3 vote of present membership.
There will be an open board meeting every Thursday before the
regular club meeting, with the option to go into executive session
for sensitive situations. Transparency is a key aspect of being
501c3. There was a question as to being able to maintain a good
standing as a 501c3 with future club administrations, which would
mean that, as a club, we will have to be careful to elect officers
who understand and are willing to maintain the club’s standing.
Motion to accept the new bylaws, seconded and approved.
Reimbursement of $600 to Wes for 501c3 Application Fee. This
was put into motion and approved by the club.
Unscheduled New Business From the Floor
The Tower sale was discussed, with an offer of $1000. Discussion
as to the usefulness of the Tower Trailer and what would be
needed to repair and maintain. Is this still an asset for the club is
tabled for the next meeting, with the suggestion that a committee
be formed to research and assess whether the club should
maintain ownership and upkeep, or sell.
Marion brought up the subject of access to the computer shack at
Sassafras, and that persons owning equipment in the shack should
have access to the equipment. A motion was made that this would
be decided in executive session, that the decision be final, and that
a committee be formed to handle access by officers.
